For the past three weeks, we have been preparing for the new school year. We had our faculty retreat, seminars on how to better implement our curriculum, we had sessions on developmentally appropriate teaching strategies and techniques and workshop sessions on integrating the Virtue of the Month in our school curriculum. We surely learned a lot and now we are ready to share and implement everything that we learned with all of you.

We are sure that you are also as excited as all of us in starting this new school year. We would like to inform you of the following important details related to the opening of the school year so that your son’s first school day will be smooth and worry free.

When is the first day of classes?
The first day of classes for all Primary School (Prep - Grade 3) and Grade 7 pupils is on June 13, Monday. The rest of the Grade School will have their first day on June 14, Tuesday.

What time do the children have to be in school?
All pupils will have to be in school at 7:20 a.m.

Where will I bring my son on the first day of school?
You can bring your son straight to his classroom. A layout of the school building will be posted on the bulletin boards for your quick reference. There will also be student ushers who can assist you in locating the classrooms.

What is the section of my son?
Your son's section is posted in the Southridge Grade School Website. Please log in to https://www.southridge.edu.ph/srreg

What will my son wear on the first day of classes?
Your son has to wear his complete and proper regular school uniform.

What does my son have to bring to school?
Since the first week is orientation week for the pupils, your son does not have to bring all of his school materials. He only has to bring the following items: a small bag, pencil and eraser, one notebook and his school diary (if it has been given). Your son's class adviser will advise you when the rest of the school materials have to be brought to school.

Is there recess in the morning? What food items should I prepare for my son?
There is a break time in the middle of the morning. The best food items to prepare for your son are juice, sandwiches, biscuits or rice with viand. Please do not include junk food and softdrinks as part of his snacks.

What is the dismissal time of my son?
On the first week of classes, dismissal time is at 11:45 for Primary School and at 12:00 noon for Intermediate School. Regular schedule will be followed the week after except for Grade 7. Regular classes for Grade 7 start on Thursday, 16 June 2011. Please refer to the class schedule which will be distributed on the first day to check the regular dismissal schedule of your son.

Where will I pick up my son after classes?
All Primary School pupils are going to be brought by their respective class advisers to the waiting area. Don't worry, the teachers will be with them until they have all been fetched.

We would also encourage you to contact the school if you have any questions or concerns during the year. If you have other questions, please do not hesitate to call us up at telephone numbers: 8078080, local 135 or 149.

We are here for you - for your child- and we will do everything possible to help your child have the best possible year of learning and growth. The whole Grade School is looking forward to a wonderful school year with your children. Enjoy these last few days of summer and we will see you soon.

Sincerely,

LUIS PRUDENCIO G. SALAMAT
